Nicholas John Hampshire LLB
Nick was born in Sydney on 3/3/1954 and attended school in Grafton after his father Bill commenced practice as a solicitor in Grafton (in 1959).
After completing the HSC in 1971 Nick became "articled" to his fathers practice and studied law by correspondence through Sydney University's SAB programme.
In 1976 Nick left the practice and moved to Sydney where he worked in private practice and then at the GIO legal department. He completed his degree at the University of Technology in 1983 after an extended holiday with his wife Kerry in Europe.
In 1984 Nick returned to his father's practice until 1987 and then joined Bob Thompson and Chris Wheelahan to form Thompson Wheelahan and Hampshire Solicitors and Conveyancers (formerly an old firm established by DW McPherson and known as McPherson and Taylor for many years).
Nick was admitted as a solicitor in 1983 and has continued to practice since that time predominantly in Conveyancing, Commercial Conveyancing, and estate work.
Family
Nick and Kerry married in 1978. Kerry completed her biomedical science degree at the Institute of Technology and went on to a post graduate degree in Dietetics at Sydney University. Kerry currently practices dietetics at Grafton Base Hospital as a consultant Dietitician, and has other commercial interests in silk painting and screen printing.
Nick and Kerry have three children, Sabina, Simon, and Elly.
Interests
Long-board surfing, offshore fishing, and camping.
